Warney, Motley Named to All-NBA G League Teams

FRISCO, TX, (Apr. 16, 2018) – Texas Legends forward Jameel Warney and center Johnathan Motley received All-NBA G League honors as announced today by the league.  Warney was named to the All-NBA G League first team while Motley was named to the second team roster.

Warney (6-8, 250, Stony Brook) played 42 games with the Legends this season averaging 19.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.  The New Jersey native finished the regular season ranking 8th in scoring average and 5th in rebounds per game, grabbing 23 double-doubles.  The MVP of Team USA’s FIBA AmeriCup gold medal run was named Team USA’s 2017 Male Athlete of the Year after a second standout performance in the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers where the team once again went undefeated.

Warney is joined by three NBA two-way players and an NBA assignee on the first team roster.

Motley (6-10, 230, Baylor), a two-way player with the Dallas Mavericks, played 34 games with the Legends averaging 22.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks, ranking 3rd in scoring average and 7th in rebounds per game in the regular season standings.

The Legends finished with a franchise-best 29-21 regular season record and made the first playoff push since the team’s inaugural season.  The complete All-NBA G League team results are below.
