VIPERS STRIKE IN FRISCO

FRISCO, TX, (Feb. 25, 2023) – The Texas Legends (6-14) gave up 80 points in the paint falling to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (10-11) 98-112.

Texas opened the game with a 6-0 run that would match their largest lead of the night.  With 3:28 left in the quarter, the two were tied at 23, but a 13-2 run by the Vipers made it a double-digit match at the buzzer.  The second quarter saw the Legends go 0-7 from outside.  The home team held RGV to 24 points but faced a 17-point deficit at the half.  Midway through the fourth, the Legends pulled within eight but were unable to close the gap.  Six unanswered points put RGV back in a double-digit lead that they held through the final. 

AJ Lawson led the Legends with a double-double of 22 points, 10 rebounds.  McKinley Wright IV added 15 points, 4 assists, and Justin Jackson and Mouhamadou Gueye tallied 13 points apiece. 

Jarrett Culver had a game-high 30 points and 13 rebounds for the Vipers while Cassius Stanley added 27 points, 5 rebounds.  Jalen Lecque finished with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Ray Spalding rounded out the double-digits with 12 points, 9 assists.  The Legends hit the road next to take on the Stockton Kings March 2nd and 4th.  Fans can catch all the action live at www.TexLegends.com.
