Legends standouts Brandon Ashley (6-9, 230, Arizona) and Andre Dawkins (6-4, 206, Duke) missed playing together on the Legends roster this season but will meet alongside Legends teammate Satnam Singh for the Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League with the Dallas Mavericks July 2-8.
Ashley is making his second consecutive summer appearance with the Mavericks after playing 33 games this season for the Legends and earning D-League All-Star honors. The 21-year old Oakland native averaged 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 blocks in 31.7 minutes before heading overseas to finish the season with ALBA Berlin.
Dawkins, an NCAA National Champion Blue Devil, joined the Legends for the tail end of the season but made his presence known. The Virginia native spent his rookie season with the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics but saw most of his minutes with their D-League affiliates where he earned All-Rookie 3rd Team and NBA D-League Showcase 3rd Team honors. In two D-League seasons (49 total games) Dawkins averaged 17.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
The Mavericks’ 2nd round pick in last year’s NBA Draft, Satnam Singh made history as the first Indian-born player drafted into the NBA. Singh spent the year developing with the Legends but will once again be in a Mavericks uniform this summer as the team heads to Orlando and Las Vegas for Summer League. The 7’2”, 20-year old center is entering his sophomore season and his second consecutive summer of playing with the Mavs, this year with some professional experience under his belt. Singh played in 19 games for the Legends last year and looks to prove his development on the court with Mavericks staff watching closely.
