TEXAS HANDS SKYFORCE LEGENDARY FIRST LOSS

FRISCO, TX, (Jan. 17, 2024) - The Texas Legends (6-2) took down the last undefeated team in the G League with a 129-117 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce (9-1).
The Legends grabbed the first lead and outscored the Skyforce 36-29 through the first quarter. Sioux Falls opened the second with a 16-5 run and took their largest lead of the night (+7) with 1:30 to play before heading to the half up 64-62. Justin Jackson followed up a 23-point first half with a 14-point second to lead the Legends’ offensive force. The two went back-and-forth seven times in the third with Texas taking the final edge near the three-minute mark behind Jelly Walker’s third triple of the quarter. The Legends finished the fourth on pace from outside, knocking down 6-of-12 and building up a double-digit lead to fend off the league’s top team.
Jackson had a season-high 37 points to lead all scorers along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Olivier-Maxence Prosper (17 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists), Theo Pinson (13 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists), and Greg Brown III (10 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks) all added double-doubles for the Legends, marking the first time this season for three Legends teammates to hit that mark. Walker finished with 21 points off the bench joined by Dexter Dennis with 15.
Jamal Cain led the Skyforce with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks while Jamaree Bouyea neared a triple-double with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Alondes Williams finished with 25 points, 4 rebounds and Justin Champagnie added 22 points, 9 rebounds.
