STARS SLIP PAST LEGENDS IN OT

FRISCO, TX, (Mar. 5, 2024) – The Salt Lake City Stars (11-13) erased a 19-point lead in the first half to inch past the Texas Legends (14-11) 136-131 in overtime. 

The Legends grabbed the first lead and built a 19-point gap midway through the first, but a late 13-3 run by the Stars cut the difference to eight at the buzzer.  The home team’s stretch continued with a 22-9 streak to start the second en route to a 76-71 Stars lead at half.  The Legends fought back, regaining the top spot in the third but couldn’t shut down Isaiah Miller who finished with seven straight to boost the home team at the break.  Salt Lake City grabbed their largest lead of the night (+12) four minutes into the fourth, but Texas was back on top with seconds to play before Miller tied it up.  The Legends grabbed the first bucket in overtime, but the Stars responded with seven straight to hit the target mark and take the victory. 

Brandon Williams finished with 31 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists, and 3 steals and Theo Pinson added 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 10 assists.  Olivier-Maxence Prosper (20 points, 10 rebounds) and Greg Brown III (19 points, 10 rebounds) also added double-doubles while Justin Jackson came off the bench for 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. 

Jason Preston led the Stars with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists while Miller tagged on 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Legends get a rematch Thursday, March 7 at 8pm CT on the UEN app and urbanedge.network.
