FRISCO, TX (Feb. 24, 2018) –The Texas Legends (23-18) fell in the final seconds to the Salt Lake City Stars (13-29) 128-132.

The two teams got off to a hot start, each shooting above 55% in the first.  Texas used a 13-point performance from Jalen Jones to take a one-point edge at the buzzer.  The second quarter remained close with Salt Lake City taking the largest swing (+8) midway through.  Brandon Ashley took over at that point and led the Legends on a 20-5 run to put Texas back in control at the break.

The tables turned in the third as Texas’ nine-point lead at the mid-mark opened the door for a visiting team run.  The Stars streaked through 26 points and Texas answered with only three.  Texas rallied back from 14 down in the fourth to come within one point, but the final seconds were decided on the free throw line and the Stars landed on top.

Ashley had a game-high 36 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals while Johnathan Motley added 29 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists.  Jameel Warney grabbed his 20th double-double of the season with 20 points, 14 rebounds and Jones finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Erik McCree led the Stars with 28 point, 5 rebounds while Georges Niang added 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals.

Texas will hit the road next Saturday for the final matchup against the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7:00pm CT and will return home March 7th to host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 7pm CT.
