FRISCO, TX, (Nov. 25, 2023) - The Texas Legends (2-5) were iced out of the second half, falling to the Mexico City Capitanes (4-3) 117-84 in the second of a back-to-back in Frisco.

After a close loss in overtime last night, the Legends took the first lead and stayed close throughout the opening half.

Justin Jackson opened with a 10-point quarter to help the Legends to their largest lead of the night (+7), but a 13-2 run by the visitors put them on top 26-22 at the buzzer.  Jackson doubled up and posted another 10-point performance in the second to keep the Legends within reach.  The Capitanes opened the quarter with a quick 7-1 run to forge a 10-point gap, but Texas knocked down five threes in a row to re-gain the lead.  The two exchanged baskets, but Mexico City finished with the edge, 53-50 at the half.

After nearing 50% (7-of-15) from three in the 2nd, Texas came out of the locker room cold.  With the home team hitting 7% outside and 27% overall, the visitors capitalized early and never relinquished their double-digit lead.

Jackson led all scorers with 22 points, 4 rebounds.  Jelly Walker tagged on 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Dexter Dennis added 11 points, 7 rebounds.

Mexico City finished with seven players in double figures led by Ethan Thompson with 21 points, 4 rebounds.  Maozinha Pereira grabbed the game’s only double-double of 15 points, 10 rebounds.
