FRISCO, TX, (Jan. 27, 2024) – The Texas Legends (7-5) evened the weekend series with a 126-117 win over the Iowa Wolves (3-10) Saturday night in front of a sold-out Comerica crowd.
The Legends were off to a slow start and allowed the Wolves to build up a 10-point lead with 5 minutes left in the first. The home team responded with 11 straight, but the lead was short lived as Iowa finished the quarter 11-4. The Wolves controlled most of the second, and while Texas tied it up near the end, Iowa had the final say to take a 59-56 lead into the locker room.
The visitors came out firing, opening the quarter on a 23-9 run for their largest lead of the night (+14). The Legends responded with a 19-7 run of their own to close the quarter down 2. After 7 early swaps in the fourth, Texas took control and held on through the final 4 minutes.
Tony Bradley made a statement in his return with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks in just 20 minutes. Justin Jackson led all scorers with 27 points, 5 rebounds, and Jelly Walker added a second double-double of 23 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 blocks. Mike Miles finished with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and Greg Brown III tagged on 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
DJ Carton led the Wolves with 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists while Leonard Miller grabbed a double-double of 14 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.
The Legends hit the road for a six-game stretch beginning in Austin Wednesday at 7pm. All games will be broadcast live on the UEN app and urbanedge.network.
