LEGENDS TAKE DOWN SQUADRON IN HOME OPENER

FRISCO, TX, (Nov. 12, 2022) - The Texas Legends (2-1) made their Comerica Center debut memorable with a 129-103 victory over the Birmingham Squadron (0-3).    

The two teams kept it close in the first with five lead changes.  Kalob Ledoux tied it up for the third time in the final two minutes, but Grant Riller finished the quarter with a floater to put Texas on top.  The home team maintained their lead through most of the second, but a balanced attack late in the half gave Birmingham a 62-57 edge at the break.

Jaden Hardy came out of the locker room on fire, knocking down 3-of-5 outside for 12 third-quarter points to turn the tides.  Tyler Dorsey closed the third with back-to-back baskets to give Texas a ten-point advantage.  The Legends maintained their double-digit difference through the final quarter using an 11-point performance from Dorsey to build up their largest gap (+30) and close out the win. 

Dorsey led all scorers with 25 points, 6 rebounds while Hardy added 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.  James Banks III dominated the boards with 13 rebounds and a game-high 3 blocks while adding 8 points, and McKinley Wright IV dished out a game-high 8 assists to go with 22 points, 3 rebounds.  Yudai Baba made his first start of the season and finished with 15 points, shooting 6-of-7, and 2 steals.  Grant Riller and Tyler Hall came off the bench for a combined 29 points, 6 rebounds.

Dereon Seabron led the visitors with 20 points, 3 rebounds while Jordan Swing grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds and added 18 points, 4 assists.
