LEGENDS SWEEP SHOWCASE

LAS VEGAS, NV, (Dec. 22, 2022) - The Texas Legends (9-9) wrapped up the 2022 G League Showcase with a 123-108 win over the Long Island Nets (10-8) to finish the Vegas trip 2-0.     

Day’Ron Sharpe opened with the first basket for Long Island.  Tyler Dorsey was quick to respond with a long ball to put Texas on top and start the back-and-forth.  The two teams exchanged baskets and leads 11 times in four minutes before Josh Nzeakor grabbed two straight to make it a three-point game.  Chris Chiozza tied it up at 15-all and Texas answered with a 7-0 run.  Midway through the second the Legends made it a double-digit difference, but the Nets streaked through 12 unanswered and finished the half within seven (53-60).  Long Island rallied in the third but never came closer than three points.  Tyler Hall had three triples early in the fourth en route to Texas’ 25-20 target score fourth.   

Dorsey had another game-high 26 points while Hall added 24 points off 7 (of 10) outside makes.  McKinley Wright IV finished with 20 points and had team-highs in rebounds (6) and assists (8).  Josh Nzeakor tagged on 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks.  Grant Riller came off the bench for 16 points, 4 assists joined by Taze Moore with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.   

Donovan Williams led the Nets with 24 points, 4 rebounds while Sharpe had the game’s only double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds.
