LEGENDS SWEEP CLIPPERS

FRISCO, TX, (Mar. 24, 2024) – Theo Pinson had a season-high 33 points to lead the Texas Legends (18-14) in a sweeping victory over the Ontario Clippers (14-19) 111-110. 

The game saw four lead changes, three of which came in the final five minutes of play.  Pinson opened the game with a long ball to start off a 6-0 run by Texas.  The two tied it up three times but the Clippers had the final say taking a 29-28 lead after one.  Armoni Brooks had 11 points in the second to lead the Clippers in building their largest advantage of the night (+15) before halftime. 

The Legends came out of the locker room firing, clipping 50% led by a 16-point performance from Pinson.  The Clippers quickly climbed to a 13-point edge with one minute to play but Texas finished 5-0 to cut the difference to 88-80 going into the final quarter.  With seven minutes on the clock, the Legends answered a seven-point deficit with an 8-point streak to take their first lead since the first quarter.  Josh Hagins hit a fadeaway in response, but the Legends countered and used a three-point play from Justin Jackson to seal the victory and the season sweep.   

Pinson added 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals and a block to his game-high 33 while Tony Bradley grabbed his second straight double-double of 15 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.  Olivier-Maxence Prosper tied his season-high with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Jackson tagged on 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Tyler Hall rounded out the double figures with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. 

Brooks came off the bench to lead the Clippers’ scoring efforts with 22 points while Hagins added a double-double of 11 rebounds, 16 assists with 9 points.
