The Texas Legends (5-3) had a season-high night shooting 56% overall and 50% outside to defeat the Iowa Wolves (5-2) 135-118, splitting the series in Des Moines.
Texas took off to a quick 5-0 start before an 11-2 run put the home team on top. Iowa built their largest lead of the night (+12) with just under four minutes left in the first, but Tyler Davis powered out 10 late points and brough the Legends within 7. Texas went on a 10-0 run late in the second to take control. The visitors expanded the lead to double-digits in the third behind a 15-point performance from Feron Hunt and held it through the final buzzer.
Dakota Mathias knocked down 4-of-5 outside to lead the Legends with 26 points in his first game of the season with the team. Justin Jackson added 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Carlik Jones grabbed the game’s only double-double of 21 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. Hunt finished with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals while Isaiah Brown and Tyler Davis came off the bench for 14 and 12 points each respectively.
Isaiah Briscoe tied the game-high with 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists for Iowa. Isaiah Miller came off the bench to add 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brandon Sampson added 19, and Canyon Barry finished the Wolves’ double-digit list with 10 points, 2 steals.
