Legends Return To Comerica Center In Double-Header Opening Weekend

Official Release | November 11, 2021

After 622 days without a game in the Comerica Center, the Texas Legends will host their 2021-22 home opener this weekend with a double-header against the Birmingham Squadron, the new G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans.  The weekend will see back-to-back charity jersey nights and a number of new activations as the team welcomes the Legends Family back to the court!

This is a first-time matchup for the two teams with the Squadron in their inaugural season.  Both Birmingham and Texas opened the season on the road and each come into this weekend with a 2-0 record.  The Squadron will also be joined this weekend by Pelicans assignee Didi Louzada, a 6-5 guard in his second season with New Orleans.

Friday night the Legends will celebrate NBA Hoops for Troops week with PRJKT VET night, presented by NFTYs.  PRJKT VET is a Black, Disabled Veteran-owned organization that focuses on helping veterans transition smoothly to life after the military.  All active duty military members and veterans receive complimentary tickets courtesy of the PRJKT VET/NFTYs Military Mission.  For details visit prjktvet.com/events.  The first 500 fans at the game will also receive a limited edition Dwight Powell (Dallas Mavericks) bobblehead.

Saturday night, Texas will ring in the holidays in true Legends fashion highlighting The Salvation Army, presented by Voyager.  The Salvation Army is the largest social services provider in the region, providing year-round support for people combatting poverty, addiction, and homelessness.  Funds raised during the holiday season help The Salvation Army serve North Texans throughout the year.  For Saturday’s game, the Legends will host a number of families and volunteers from across the DFW metroplex in a celebration of gratitude for countless hours of work put in through The Salvation Army’s programs.

A limited number of tickets are still available for this weekend’s matchups.  For more information or to purchase yours today call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
