Britney Wynn /December 8, 2023

FRISCO, TX, (Dec. 7, 2023) - The Texas Legends (4-7) finished their road trip 2-0 after taking down the Memphis Hustle (4-8) 101-97.

The game stayed close with 15 lead changes in the first three quarters.  Justin Jackson opened the second half with an outside jumper to give the Legends a seven-point lead but the Hustle responded with seven straight to tie the game up.  Texas built the gap back to seven before four straight points from Kenny Lofton tied it up for the seventh and final time at the three-minute mark.  The Legends finished the quarter 11-1, taking their largest lead of the night (+11) before the buzzer hit 85-75.   The visitors would hit their double-digit barrier three more times but never exceeded a 10-point edge in the fourth, and with 1:08 on the clock the Hustle had made it a three-point game.  After missed opportunities on both ends, Justin Jackson missed his first free throw of the season but made the second to put the game out of reach.

Jackson ended with a team-high 21 points, 7 rebounds while Josh Nzeakor neared a double-double with a team-high 10 rebounds and 9 points.  Taze Moore came off the bench for 19 points, 7 rebounds and Jelly Walker added 15 points, 4 assists.  Dexter Dennis threw down 13 points, 7 rebounds followed closely by fellow two-way Greg Brown III with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Grizzlies’ assignment Kenny Lofton Jr. finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds and David Johnson tagged on 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  The Legends return home to host the Austin Spurs Dec. 9th at 7:30pm for Toys for Tots night presented by InTouch Credit Union.  Fans can bring a toy to the Comerica Center between 2-8pm to get a free ticket to the game.  For more information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
