Legends Named Frisco’s Best of Business: Giving Back To The Community

Official Release | September 27, 2018

The Legends were named to Frisco Style’s 2018 Best of Business Awards the organization announced last night.

One of eight winners at the Best of Business banquet, the Legends were selected as the winner of the Giving Back to the Community category. The team recently rolled out their new branding campaign for the 2018-19 season #Together, which includes #TogetherintheCommunity as a foundational piece to the organization’s makeup.

Quote from Malcolm—“This award means the world to us because this is what we are striving for each and every day,” said Legends President/General Manager Malcolm Farmer. “Donnie’s [Nelson] purpose in buying this team was to use it as a platform to give back to and honor the true legends in our community, and this is a sign that we’re doing that.”

The team will once again use their 24 home games to highlight 24 different charities, wearing a new, custom jersey for each game.

“We’re grateful to Frisco Style for using their platform to recognize hard working businesses in our community. We were up there with a number of our partners, and it was just a pleasure to watch them get recognized for their excellence as well.”

Most recently, the Legends partnered with Legacy Plumbing to create the “Mission of the Month” program, spotlighting specific needs of a different local non-profit each month and collecting donations through their premium membership program. The Legends and Legacy Plumbing joined together to donate canned goods and non-perishable items to Frisco Fastpacs earlier this week and will be collecting children’s toys for Toys For Tots throughout the month of October.

“We look forward to growing these efforts moving forward and working to make this community proud to join together with us in business, basketball, and beyond.”

The Legends will host the Salt Lake City Stars in their home opener Nov. 9th at 7:30pm. For tickets or information visit www.TexLegends.com or call 214-469-0822
