The Texas Legends launched a new series shining a light on the everyday heroes doing good in our community. The Community Spotlight opens with a glimpse at Coserv and their current efforts to help those hurting in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Community Spotlight is a way for the Legends to tell uplifting stories. In the midst of great crisis, humanity has shown great heroism, whether that’s donated funds or goods, neighborly outreach, or service efforts. The Legends wanted to use their platform to highlight these tales as positive ray in hard times.
“Particularly in the times we’re in right now, we feel like you can turn on the news and see nothing but negativity,” said Legends President/General Manager Malcolm Farmer. “We’re surrounded by stress and hardship and we wanted to give people something to smile about, to tell those stories of the good happening in the midst of it all.”
The series opens with a look at local utility company Coserv, who services seven counties in North Texas. Coserv recently made a donation of $200,000 to seven of the largest social service agencies in this area to assist with the needs in our community.
“Our partners over at Coserv are constantly looking for ways to help the community, and they’ve made a huge contribution to those in need right now, so we wanted to bring that to light. It’s not just a one-time gift either; they’re in constant contact with those agencies making sure that they’re in a good spot to be able to help everyone coming through their doors. That’s a company making a difference.”
The Legends’ Community Spotlight series will live on social media and the team’s website. For more information on the Community Spotlight or to nominate a local hero, email Legends VP of Community Relations Britney Wynn at email@example.com.
