LEGENDS' FOURTH-QUARTER FIRE SEARS AUSTIN IN SEASON OPENER

FRISCO, TX, (Nov. 4, 2022) - The Texas Legends (1-0) opened the 2022-23 season with a win on the road against the Austin Spurs (0-1) 120-113.   

The Spurs grabbed an early edge and held on through the first half, taking their largest lead of the night (+12) with just under two minutes remaining.  Texas found their first lead five minutes into the third, but the Spurs stayed within two and had it tied 82-all at the buzzer.   

After two lead changes to open the fourth the Spurs regained control, but Wright was just heating up.  The visitors dominated the final four minutes finishing perfect at the line to start the season in the win column.   

The Legends were led by their two-ways, Wright (29 points, 3 assists) and Tyler Dorsey (18 points, 7 rebounds), while Mavericks’ assignee Jaden Hardy added 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists.  James Banks III finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks, and Tyler Hall came off the bench to round out the double-digits with 12 points, 3 rebounds.   

Spurs’ two-way Charles Bassey led all scorers with 33 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 blocks.  Jalen Adaway tagged on 20 points, 4 rebounds, and Chaundee Brown Jr. added 15 points, 2 steals.
