LEGENDS COMEBACK FREEZES AS SKYFORCE ICE GAME LATE

SIOUX FALLS, SD, (Jan. 4, 2023) - The Texas Legends (2-2) dropped a nail-biter to the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2-2) 130-132. 

The Skyforce controlled the first half, going up by as many as 18 before heading to the locker room.  Taze Moore came out firing in the third, knocking down 4-of-5 outside as Texas clawed their way back to within two at the final break.  The Legends saw their first lead of the night in the fourth when they responded to back-to-back Skyforce baskets with a 10-3 run.  Two minutes and three lead changes later, the home team was back on top.  With 1:12 to play, Kadeem Jack put the Skyforce up by eight, but the visitors jumped into gear and hit a 9-1 run.  Mychal Mulder dropped one in out of the Skyforce timeout and Texas missed their final opportunity to fall to .500 in the regular season.

Grant Riller had his third straight 30-point performance with 38, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.  Moore added a career-high 22 points, hitting 5-of-7 outside, with 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and Tyler Hall added another five outside for 17 points, 3 rebounds.  Tra-Deon Hollins came off the bench for 15 points, 4 assists, and Yudai Baba finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. 

Mulder led the Skyforce with 26 points, while DJ Stewart added 22 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals.  Jamaree Bouyea and Jon Elmore finished with 21 points, 7 assists each, and Marcus Garrett and Kadeem Jack combined for 28 points, 13 rebounds.     The Legends return home for a six-game stretch that begins this weekend as they host the Memphis Hustle Saturday (7:30pm) and Sunday (3:30pm).  For tickets or game information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
