FRISCO, TX (Dec. 1, 2016)–The Texas Legends announced today that they have acquired guard Tony Wroten off of waivers.
Wroten (6-6, 205, Washington) was drafted in the 1st round (25thoverall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. As a rookie, Wroten played in 35 games with Memphis and was assigned to the Reno Bighorns for 11 games where he averaged 17.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 steals. In 145 career NBA games, Wroten has averaged 11.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Wroten played one year at Washington averaging 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.9 steals and was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.
The Legends completed a trade with the Windy City Bulls, acquiring the returning player rights to Xavier Thames and in turn sending guard Andre Dawkins.
