Legends Acquire James Banks III

The Texas Legends have acquired center James Banks III and a 2022 3^rd round NBA G League Draft pick in a trade with the Birmingham Squadron.  In exchange, Texas sends a 2022 1^st round pick (from Capital City via Salt Lake City and Maine).

Banks (6-10, 250, Georgia Tech) played two years at Texas prior to transferring to Georgia Tech.  In 62 games with the Yellow Jackets, he averaged 10.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 2.5 blocks and earned ACC All-Defensive Team both seasons.

As a rookie, Banks went overseas and played 17 games with Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israel averaging 5.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks.  He joined the New Orleans Pelicans in training camp earlier this year and was allocated to the Squadron where he averaged 5.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks in 18.1 minutes across 24 games.
