LAKERS LAND BIG WIN IN TEXAS

FRISCO, TX, (Jan. 13, 2023) – The South Bay Lakers (5-2) got their first road victory of the regular season with a 125-105 victory over the Texas Legends (2-5) Friday night in Frisco.

The Lakers grabbed the first basket and never let go of the lead, building a double-digit gap late in the first and leading 29-20 at the first buzzer.  Texas hit a 9-0 run early in the first to come within three but hit a cold spell and fell behind 14 at the break. 

The second half was all South Bay as they maintained a double-digit advantage through the last two quarters.  The Legends knocked down nine threes in the final 24, but the visitors doubled their points in the paint, finishing the night with 70 to Texas’ 40. 

Taze Moore clinched a 17-point, 13-rebound double-double for the Legends.  Grant Riller added 21 points, 3 assists and Tyler Dorsey came off the bench for 17 points, 3 rebounds.  Tyler Hall finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and Josh Nzeakor grabbed 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. 

Shaquille Harrison led the Lakers with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Devin Cannady and Javante McCoy added 19 points apiece, and Jay Huff finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
