FOURTH QUARTER FREEZE STUNTS LEGENDS IN STOCKTON

STOCKTON, CA, (Mar. 4, 2023) – The Texas Legends (6-16) went cold in the fourth quarter to hand the Stockton Kings (18-6) their fourth consecutive victory 106-129. 

The two teams kept it close through the first three quarters, staying within eight points on both sides and finding themselves even at the second and third buzzers.  Tied at 91-all heading into the final quarter, the Legends hit a wall.  The visitors shot 13% outside and 30% overall while the Kings hit 74% and 67% outside to more than double their outcome 38-15 and take the season series 2-0.

The short-handed Legends had six of eight players finish in double-digits, led by Grant Riller off the bench with 20 points.  Taze Moore tallied his eighth double-double of the season with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Justin Jackson also grabbed 17 points with 5 rebounds, 5 assists.  Tyler Hall and McKinley Wright IV added 14 points apiece and Norense Odiase grabbed 12 points in his second appearance with the team.

Six of the Kings’ 13 players also tabbed double-digits with DJ Steward leading all scorers at 27 points, 4 assists.  Neemias Queta grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
