Blue Streak Continues Over Texas

By Kyle Judkins | November 12, 2018

The Oklahoma City Blue (4-0) extended their win streak with a 121-103 victory over the Texas Legends (2-2) Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City took the early lead and never relinquished it, going up by as many as 22 on the visitors.  Both teams struggled offensively in the first, combining for 3-of-16 from outside.  Oklahoma held their ground but Texas stayed close through the first half, trailing 54-60 at the break.

Texas’ outside struggles continued in the third but Oklahoma City heated up, making five to the Legends’ one of eight shots each.  Jameel Warney went 3-of-4 and 4-of-4 from the free throw line to add 10 third quarter points for the Legends but the Blue continued to widen the gap, answering Warney’s line with 13 and 4 boards from Abdel Nader.  OKC built their largest difference in the fourth and Texas was unable to rally.

Warney finished with a team-high 18 points, 6 rebounds, and a game-high 4 assists while Ray Spalding, Codi Miller-McIntyre, and Rashad Vaughn added 12 points apiece.  Spalding and Miller-McIntyre also grabbed 9 rebounds each to lead the visitors.  Kostas Antetokounmpo added 11 points, 7 rebounds, and Daryl Macon and Justin Tubbs rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points each.

Nader and Tyler Davis powered the Blue’s efforts with Nader leading all scorers at 22 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and Davis dominating the boards with a game-high 13 rebounds and 16 points.  KJ McDaniels came off the bench to add 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

The two teams will meet again on Friday at 7:30pm in Frisco after the Legends host the Stockton Kings Wednesday for Frisco ISD Night.  Tipoff for Wednesday’s match will be 7pm.  For tickets or information call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
