FRISCO, TX, (Jan. 6, 2018) –The Texas Legends (12-11) rallied from an 18-point deficit in the third but were unable to complete the comeback, falling to the Iowa Wolves (12-10) 111-118 Saturday night in Frisco.
Texas pulled ahead early and built up their largest lead of the night (+8) midway through the first. Iowa used the final three minutes to streak through 12 unanswered points, taking control and holding on through the final three quarters.
Facing an 18-point deficit to open the second half, Texas went on a 24-7 run to come within one point of the visitors. Iowa extended the gap in the last two minutes and managed to stay out of reach in the fourth.
Johnathan Motley led the Legends’ efforts with 25 points, 16 rebounds while Jameel Warney followed closely with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Jalen Jones and Justin Dentmon added 19 points apiece and Donald Sloan came off the bench to add 16 points, 6 assists.
Amile Jefferson powered the Wolves with 28 points and 21 rebounds. Anthony Brown finished with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, and Elijah Millsap grabbed 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists off the bench.
