Legends Partner With The Little Medical School To Encourage Sports Injury/Wellness Education

Official Release | March 29, 2017

The Texas Legends are proud to announce a partnership with The Little Medical School of North Texas that will further the team’s youth outreach mission.

The Little Medical School has officially launched in North Texas, the first educational franchise of its kind in the metroplex.  The branch is owned and operated by Dr. Robert Holland, a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician who saw the need for educating our youth on medical issues for both life skills and to inspire future health care providers.  The unique partnership with the Legends will be the first of its kind for both the Legends and The Little Medical School.

“The Little Medical School’s mission aligns perfectly with our youth outreach programs and we’re excited to add the medical input to our efforts,” said Legends President and General Manager Malcolm Farmer.  “The partnership makes sense from both sides as we add Dr Holland and his staff’s expertise to our current curriculum.”

The partnership will focus on sports medicine, tipping off at the Texas Legends youth summer camps in June, July, and August.  The Little Medical School will be on-site at the camps and will host a session teaching campers some basics of sports medicine such as ankle wrapping and injury prevention techniques.

“We are excited to partner with the Legends in their efforts,” said Dr. Holland.  “Being new to the area, we wanted to hit the ground running and this partnership will give us that opportunity.  We look forward to working with the Legends family and getting involved with them out in the community.”
